Howzit, Heita, Hola

Great Forum.       We've been in NZ since 2004 and loving it. Life is great   :)  only if you make it happen. To all those wanting to immigrate I'll say go for it. Life is short, so do it now. No matter where you go you'll always encounter challenges but it is how you deal with them that counts. Be positive in all that you do and choose to be happy      in all your circumstances and you'll discover that wherever you are, you can make a difference.

Cheers
Ronald

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I am on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula, Hibiscus Coast, just north of Auckland city. It's magnificent out here as we have so many beaches to choose from. My wife and I are teachers and we teach in the area, so it's all sweet   :)     Schools closed today for a 2 week break      and looking forward to a good break. We are heading to Paunui for a few days and we might head down to Whakatani and maybe visit Mt Ruapau to catch the snow.  So, it's all good mate   :D

Cheers

Hi Ronald welcome and enjoy your break. IMHO teachers all need the rest that school holidays provide no matter where they teach. If I may ask what level do you teach? You have started something now and must be prepared to be bombarded wth questions. ;) All of us on here have pretty much decided that we ARE going but if we can get as much info as possible to help us settle in that would be great. You know the whole forwarned is forearmed thing.

Hi Dance

Thanks for the post. Oh yes, absolutely. Teachers need a break  O0    8)

Today my family and I spent the day at Waiwera hot pools just 25 min. from where we live. The weather was great initially but later the rains came down in torrents - thunder and lightning and all (which we don't get a lot of i.e. thunder)    :o    . But dispite this we had a great time.

I teach Year 7 (grade 6/std 4) and my wife teaches Year 2(grade 1/sub A). Perhaps I'll post a new thread on Teaching in NZ and you can gain some insight as how things are done here.

I'm happy you decided to make the move and wish you well in all youe endeavours   O0

Cheers
Ronald
