Where to live for the Huckfield's
« on: October 28, 2007, 07:21:46 pm »
Hi all.

Did you all have a good weekend?

I was just wondering - what type of area is Thorndon?  I have found 2 schools that I would potentially put my kids in (the older one to St Mary's) and the one in primary school in Thorndon School.  Both of them are decile 10 schools.  Thorndon is a state school - decile 10, and St Mary's is State integrated and also a decile 10.

I don't know much about the area - maybe someone here lives there or close to there.  Advice and info on living there and how far it is to Wellington City centre would be much appreciated.

Ok, then let me ask, what are the better areas to stay in Wellington?

Natashah, remember there's plenty Saffers around, they might just not all be members of this site... yet!  ;)
I have been here in Hamilton a little less than 3 months, and already I've met 4 Saffer families, (3 at church and one at school)... wait... the principal is also Saffer!  And then people here immediately recognize our accent, so there must be enough of us around for them to know... not like in Texas, where we got asked "So y'all's not from around here?"  or "Where'r y'all from?" to which you answer "Suth Africa" and they say, "oh I have a cuzzin that did mishunry work in Congo!"  ;D  or worse, "So where you learn to speak English so weeell?" ::)
