Hamilton...
Hardly any earthquakes (get them alot in Hawkes Bay), and not as much rain as Auckland.  In fact the reason my hubby's employers chose Hamilton as their HQ was because it's the safest place weather-wise and also natural disaster-wise. (no volcanoes nearby either.)

Auckland is not bad, just more rainy.

Wellington is Windy (that's why it's spelled with a W) like the Cape.

Apparently Hawkes Bay area has nice weather though, even if they do have a few light earthquakes, but their beaches have lava pebbles on, not nice sand...

South Island is generally colder, but apparently Christchurch has the best weather down there - ask Happy Expat!

Best time of year is apparently March, when it's not too hot (Dec-Feb), and not too cold or windy (Apr - Oct).  I'm finding November to be very pleasant too.

My sister also said Tauranga and Palmerston North are nice places to check out.
lekker sweet as, y'all

Yip, Chch is definately very different from the rest of SI O0

It's warmer and we miss most of the rain............and the snow this year :'(

Now is not a good time to judge the weather as it's so changeable, but summers can get up to the low 30's and it's a dry heat, not humid like Auckland ;)
