rent furnished vrs unfurnished
« on: November 30, 2007, 09:09:45 pm »
Hi, We will have to be out ot our house and so have to rent in SA for 2 / 3 months.
It is going to be a tall order and I am not sure whether we should go the furnished or unfurnished route and what the pros and cons of each will be. We may have to settle for what is availble as it is a short period. Ideas are welcome.

Sorry can't help much, but maybe you will have to find out what you are going to need, see what you can borrow or are you still going to have some or all of you old stuff and then see what is going to be available when you need it and the at what cost, sorry, can't help more.

If we go furnishesd we will pack up everythig except clothes and such. if we go unfurnished I think we will pack excess and move with the rest.

Greenfamily, when we did our move, we were faced with the same problem, but just for a shorter period. The guys that did the move were really great. They allowed us to pack and store about 90% of our stuff. And then added the rest when were done (so to speak). We also kept some of the stuff that wasn't going to come with and got by with a lot of help from family (thanks Mags  :smitten:) and friends!

if you can rent furnished, or borrow the basics, then at least you can send your container along ahead of you O0
