NZ-OZ
« on: December 06, 2007, 02:55:11 PM »
Hi
I wnat to know if anyone has gone to NZ and wished tehy had gone to OZ, and viceversa  I am tryng to make up my mind of where to go, with an OZ PR visa. ALso will phone today the NZ immigration services in NZ to make sure I can enter NZ, WHen I entered in 2005 after having been in OZ for a week validating my vias, they stamped my passport  as a tourist and gave me 3 months.

But their website says if you have OZ residnecy you can stay indfinitely in NZ and get a residence permit when you land.

Thanks
Andrea

Not to sure about this.  If the guys here can't answer then there is another site you can visit that are mostly Ozzies but also a few Kiwi's.  Let's first see if our guys can help.

why do you want to come to NZ if you have Oz PR?

Australia is a great country too. They mighy have water restrictions, heat and drought but its still an awesome place.

HI Rotovegas , I know OZ is a beatiful place , but I am going on my own, with a son,and another one on the way. ANd in NZ I have my inlaws that may help if I ever need help with kids. While in OZ I am basically on my own, except for  a couple of people I know, but that depends on which city I go to. SO I am just weighing my options.

OK, well family is certainly the deciding factor. Better to be close to family. Where in NZ do they live?

If NZ would let you, I would certainly vote for coming here to have the baby and then go to OZ.  Let me tell you, it's hard having a baby in a strange country with no family to help.

Been there, done that, got spit-up all over my t-shirt. :heeha:

Go onto www.saaustralia.org  There are a few people who could help you there.   Some of them have come from OZ to NZ and visa versa.

Hi Andrea sorry I can't help with the answer to your dilema but  :gl: I would also go with the family support thing and go back to Oz later if I felt that way inclined  :flowers: :flowers:
