Still getting there
« on: December 24, 2007, 10:16:04 am »
Hi All
We have been looking at going over from SA to NZ for some time.  Since my 16yr old son was mugged and stabbed last week  :tickedoff:(he is ok), the pace has been stepped up a notch.  My brother in law has been living in Aukland for nearly five years, so we will be doing the whole move (hopefully) a bit differently.  My better half will go over and stay with his brother and look for a job, then find a house to rent and then I will sell up here, resign and move over.  We will miss him so much, but that is the best way for our family to do it.  We will miss little East London too!!!

Welcome to the site!  So sorry about what happened to your son but sometimes things like this have to happen in order to get us into action!!

Do you not have enough points to start an EOI? What do you and your hubby do?

Also, its best that you do it now while your son is still young enough to be your dependant.  I think if he is over 18 you need more proof but I stand corrected.

Welcome again, its an awesome site to be on with lots of people willing to help

:)

Hi Hadenough, my sister is also from east London and now stays in Aukland. She loves it and never want to come back.

You are doing the best thing for your family.

Looked at the EOI page on the web.  Talk about opening stacks of new windows!!  Still don't know if we have enough points :crazy2:, will have to ask hubby to look at it.  He is a qualified telecomms tech and has a Bcomm degree with specialisation in Industrial psychology.  As for me, been working for the same company for 24 years (the one that keeps you in darkness every now and then!!) I have a very good position, but still working towards a degree (hope to get it before I retire!! :D).

Hadenough, use the points calculator on this site - I specifically added one here because of the window problem on the official site O0

Thanks Nolan, please tell me where on the site?  Better add a face with a walking stick for me, I am having a senior citizen moment, can't find the calculator.

Tēnā koe! Haere mai! Hello and Welcome!

Hadenough, your hubby will be in HIGH demand here..  telecom guys are highly sought after... my hubby is now working in that arena for the first time, but he's in IT - he does the programming behind the electronics..  ;)
lekker sweet as, y'all
