Agree SAKB. When Nikki heard what they were going to have to recite daily she just said no way in hell. I owe no one anything least of all the freedom fighters!!!

I can also see Tanna standing with her jaw clamped firmly shut while the pledge is recited.  There is no WAY she will support it  >:D Just hope she keeps it shut and doesn't air her views on it! That could cause problems for her!! :crazy2:

There is no way my kids will be brain washed with this sh!t. they were in a Afrikaans skool.... yes they do still exist... wil find out what they are doing about this hogwash and come back to you.  Can't see them saying this at the opening of school.

Sorry Guys, I couldn't find this article in Eng - Maybe news24 will catch up on this story. It's, basicly, about giving Governments schools no space to refuse the pledge. And that after Pandor said it would be voluntary! gmf!!!

K aapstad. – Openbare skole sal waarskynlik min ruimte hê om nie aan die voorgestelde eed van getrouheid vir leerlinge te voldoen nie, het dr. Pallo Jordan, minister van kuns en kultuur, gesê.

Jordan het gister vrae beantwoord op ’n media-inligtingsessie by die parlement.

Gevra watter stappe teen skole gedoen sal word wat weier om die eed af te lê, het Jordan gesê hy is nie seker wat die onderwysdepartement beplan ten opsigte van nakoming en onwilligheid nie.

“Ek sal aanneem dat daar in openbare skole baie min ruimte sal wees vir onwilligheid. Daar mag dalk ruimte wees in private skole, maar ek is nie seker nie.”

Jordan het sy stelling gemaak ten spyte van me. Naledi Pandor, minister van onderwys, se vroeëre versekering dat die opsê van die eed elke kind se persoonlike keuse sal wees.

Pandor het gesê sy kan nie dink dat enige kind nie die eed sal wil aflê nie, want dit is ten diepste op die Grondwet gegrond. Pres. Thabo Mbeki het Vrydag in sy staatsrede die eed aangekondig as deel van nasiebou.

Jordan het gesê baie van die negatiewe kommentaar op die eed is “oningelig”.

“Die twee reëls in die voorgestelde bewoording van die eed wat groot ontevredenheid ontlok het, is direk uit die Grondwet aangehaal.

“Ek verstaan nie die logika daaraan om die Grondwet te onderskryf en dit in die eed te verwerp nie. Dalk is dit ’n aanduiding van die graad waartoe mense nie weet wat die Grondwet eintlik sê nie.”

Intussen het die VF+ gister ’n veldtog teen die skole-eed aangekondig.

Dr. Pieter Mulder, VF+-leier, het gesê sy party “vind dit skokkend dat die regering, wat verpligte godsdiensonderrig, skriflesing en gebed in skole uitgefaseer het, kinders nou wil blootstel aan hul verwronge ideologie”.

Hy meen die eed herinner aan gewoontes onder Nazisme en kommunisme.

Hy het veral uitgewys dat baie kinders nou blootgestel word aan negatiewe gevolge van regstellende aksie en misdaad.

Voorts sal ouers, skole en leerlinge aangemoedig word om nie die eed af te lê nie.

Die party sal ook ’n petisie teen die eed versprei.

Volgens mnr. Alfred Mpontshane, IVP-LP, steun dié party die idee van ’n eed, maar op sekere voorwaardes:

“Die bewoording moet gepas wees vir die ontwikkelende ouderdom van leerlinge en vry wees van ideologie en moet die steun van alle rolspelers geniet. Die doel daarvan moet nasiebou, maatskaplike samehorigheid en die inskerping van ’n kultuur van menseregte wees.”

I know when I see ***, and I know when I see mud, and this is not MUD.
My daughter that is still in SA will, as sure as I'm in NZ, get in to *** for this. She cannot or will not, keep her pretty little mouth shut. I therefor see sumting but "not mud" in the future. O am I glad I am not in SA. Sumting is about to hit the fan.  ::):whistle::heeha: ,
