1) Everyone could be wrong in assuming it was destined for the MDC.  What about Zanu-PF?
2) If it is the MDC I suspect the arms are a present from China in order to get somebody in power that will be easier to mess around with than Rob.

I read in the paper today that the government don't want to stop the arms going through to Zim  - quiet diplomacy I guess.

why would they?

SA has propped up the Zim govt for years. SA could force Bob out in 24 hrs if they wanted to but they dont. The ANC and ZANU-PF are big buddies and the ANC will only become more and more like them as the years roll on. And thats a warning to you guys who think things will "get better". It wont!

Well said Jaffa O0

I understood that the arms were for Zanu PF and not MDC. This is a huge worry for us as we still have family up there that cannot/wiil not get out! Already there has been much post election violence. Family in Karoi have been violently forced off their farm and are now seeking refuge with friends in town. Extra arms for the " war vets" can only make things worse.

I read this morning that the dock workers in Durban are refusing to move the container from the ship.
Dance, it's all very worrying to us too as our daughter and grandson are still there but at least they're in Harare and not on a farm.

(((hugs ))) Wendy. Even in town I would be worried as blazes. All we can do is watch and wait and support each other.

Good news about the dock workers. Apparently the consignment was to go overland and the truckers have also refused to be involved.  Good for them. They have the unions backing them up on this one so hope they can stick to it.  All that is left now is to see if the consignment will rerouted through Mozambique?

I heard on the news lastnight that the ship left Durban harbour and is probably on the way to Maputo now.

Somebody said on the radio that there are some Aussie and other international forces in Botswana.  If this is true then they could keep it from getting out of Zambia or Angola, although I doubt it will go via Zambia.

Well guys, Africa is in constant conflict. Just wondering what effect the influx of foreigners will have on SA. Read in the papers yesterday that about 3800 individuals crossed the Zim SA border in one weekend. Mostly women & children following husbands already here. I am really concerned for everyone trapped in SA>??
