Hi

My name is Dries(Cape Town)This is my first time on the forum but I spent about 3hours on the site, thanks to all the contributors. I'm planning to move to NZ in May, cowboy style, and need a WP application document checklist. Do I need an IELTS test and a NZQA for the wp application or can I get these in NZ for EOI

also, my occupation(qualified) is on the immediate SSL will I be considered in EOI.

Welcome to the site Dries

If you got a D for your English (HG) in Matric then you should be alright and not need an IELTS. You will need to have your qualifications assessed with the NZQA.

Hi Dries
No you don't need to do the IELTS or assessment for you work permit. So yes you can do this once you are in NZ and chances are good that once you're there you'll find out that you might not need them.

When you have a job offer you will be able to do your EOI - see the points indicator, you will probably have more than 140 points.

I can give you a checklist but I might forget something

so rather go and have a look at the application form HERE and GuideHERE on the Immigration website then you will be able to see exactly what they want.

Heather and Anchen, thanks for the advise my qaul is a national diploma(technikon) Agriculture. Do I need this NZQA assessed for wp application as well or only for EOI. On the application form I have to supply "Proof of Qualification" it does not state anything about NZQA.

Hi Dries, do your medical in SA before leaving. Its cheaper and you will also know if there are any problems before arriving in NZ.

Other than than, just police clearances.

Hi there

This is what we had to provide for our work permit - which has been issued for 3 years... I did not know they did them for so long!! We were offered a job in NZ while in SA and submit via the PTA office.

Work visa applications - OH and Me
Sponorship form - compelted by OH and witnessed by a lawyer - say he will sponsor me
Medicals
Police Clearances - from sa
Job offer - employment contract etc
Evidence of our relationship
Proof of qualification & work experiance
Passports
and the fee - which I think was R1000 each....

You might need to do the NZQA full assessment even though your diploma is for agriculture, the NZIS will want to know what level it is equivalent to here in NZ. For the NZQA you will need to supply all your documents, diploma's, transcripts, Senior Certificate etc. with certified copies, doing the full assessment and knowing what level your qualifications are will assist with the points on your EOI.
