Hi everyone,
After several years of thinking about immigrating we have finally decided to make it a reality.
The main reason why we waited so long is, of course, the family issue. The idea of immigrating started when my wife was sent on a business trip to NZ and AUS in 2005. I was fortunate enough to accompany her and the moment we set foot in Auckland I knew that this was the place where one could build a future for yourself without constantly looking over you shoulder.
The feeling of freedom reminded me of SA in the late 1970’s. I also realised that we became accustomed to the way of life in South- Africa, a way of life that is not normal. The idea of immigrating started to become a reality for us when my cousin’s fiancé got murdered in an armed robbery last year.
After the birth of our son (now 7 months old) we realised that there’s no future for our child in this lawless country with no moral values. We are still in the beginning of the immigration process and there is a possibility that my wife could get an offer of employment, keeping fingers cross.
Anyone on this forum staying in Upper-Hut?
