Anyone been back to SA for holiday yet?
« on: March 08, 2008, 11:28:42 pm »
Hi,
Me and my two children are heading off to SA for a holiday for 2 weeks. We leave on Thursday.  How do you go from being care free to petrified? Im starting to have sleepless nights thinking of what could happen.  I know it probably wont, but Im still worried! My DH keeps getting cross with me(he is still in SA) he keeps saying 'its not a war zone!!' UM yes it is!! He got cross because I wanted Travel Insurance since I am not on his SA medical aid anymore!
I think its time for some rescue remedy! for me!

Well I would actually agree with the travel insurance.  But I cant see how anyone could NOT be on medical aid in SA.  Ive been in the government hospitals in the city where I live and there is no way in hell I will ever go there!!!

Hi ks11, enjoy DDA (Deapest Darkest Africa), I was just back in SA for 11 days over January and it wasn't so bad, except it was dark most of the time, with the load shedding and all, but, you MUST eat as much BILTONG as you possibly can, it is a pre-requesite for going back.  :knuppel2:;D;D:heeha: . Cheers,  8) , SAKB.

Hi Keri enjoy your holiday. I can imagine how easy it is for paranoia to set in once having lived life as she should be lived! Eat lots of the goodies that you miss and take photies of the good and the bad. The good ones will help you when you are feeling down and the bad ones will remind you why you left!
When life throws you a lemon - make lemonade!

Spur is scheduled for the next day. Mugg & Bean somewhere in between.

Keri, have a Wimpy cheeseburger for me please.  That's something I'm really missing.  While still in SA I said I wouldn't ever miss the Spur but after going to various places here in NZ and been totally disappointed the Spur would be absolutely wonderful right now.  :D
