I know I'll miss some spices in the KFC,  its not bad in NZ, but just not the same thing.

Oh yes, and peppermint Aero.  Luckily Nestle decided to cancel Cream Soda Nesquik or I would miss that too...  :idiot2:

 Not much to miss then. Now we need to set up a network for homebaked SA goodies. I am in for buttermlk rusks and koekesisters.

Hi guys,
Im back home now! Wimpy was great, yum yum, and Spur better than I remembered! Droe wors was also good. I am deffinatley glad to be back home now. no more checking who's following me or that traffic on the N3. And the load shedding, its now a part of life, Shops now have signs in the windows that they trade during power outages. I experienced load shedding twice while i was there! once at the dentist, luckily i wasnt in the chair. and another at my friends place, we drove Kempton Park stukkend eventually found a raodhouse that could cook burger patties.  And dont forget the tow trucks waiting at the on ramps like vultures.
It was funny the first couple of days, i kept saying to myself, theres another south african (hearing the accent) then realising duh! Im in SA! :uglystupid2:

The weather wias miserable, everone thanked me for bringing the bad weather with while Auckland had a bright sunny Easter coz I took all the rain with me.

The flights were very long with the kids,l and then I got stopped at immigration coming back into NZ. The passport number on my visa had a number wrong and didnt match my passport number. just the last digit was wrong so at midnight with 2 small children we got taken aside while immigration verified me and my visa status! so that has to be sorted.

Im glad to be back home, and my best friend arrives on Saturday!!! YAY!

Its so strange hearing the other perspective - someone coming back from SA and saying what its like :)

Quite interesting to hear the point of view of someone who has not been here for a while!  You get so used to certain things here that you dont even notice them anymore.
