Does NZ also have different license plates for the different regions?

No, they had a system where they used 2 alphabetical and 4 numerical characters and when that were exhausted they just added 1 alphabetical and deducted 1 numerical character. Meaning license plates looked like this: AB1234 and the new cars are driving around with plates looking like this: ABC123. But both systems are still in use today. Meaning they didn't scrap the old one to start a new one, just changed to a new system aswell. Plus you can have plates like this: MOM 2BE or PC PLUM etc. As long as the word is not longer than 6 characters. C-ya, SAKB.

I haven't seen the post boxes either, not sure what this looks like.  Only saw a couple of interesting number plates and one we spotted on the north shore read "***"  can only be a south african!
