We only have Fresh Choice and Woolworths in our town, which are both owned by the same company anyway! I don't like Woolworths because they don't have such a variety of stuff. Its not worth travelling to Hamilton where theres more choice because it would cost more in petrol! We get 12c per litre off fuel at Fresh Choice too if we spend $120 or more.  :)

Wow, 12c?  At which gas stations can you redeem those, and is it limited to your town?  I may just come do some shopping there one day!  And catch a cuppa with you for lunch or something! ;)

Its for Shell and Gull service stations. Fresh Choice seems to only be in smaller towns but its part of the Foodtown/Woolworths/Countdown chain and has all the Home Brand and Signature Range stuff  :)
Talking of fuel - I see the prices have just gone down again

I have compared the Pak n Save to the Countdown and Countdown is much cheaper on many products. I LOVE the specials that Countdown have almost ALL the time on different products.

It definately depends on where you stay. We have a Foodtown in Whangaparaoa and a Countdown and New World in Orewa and by us the New World is the cheapest.

I know that Caltex accept any of the petrol vouchers. So you are not really restricted and you can use them any where.
We got a good one last night 20c off/l from Countdown

right.. had lots of time today so did some comparison meat shopping... went to new world and the mad butcher. MB was much cheaper on everything (nearly $8/kg on some stuff cheaper!) so will be buying meat from there from now on! also fruit and veg shop was cheaper than NW.

Thanks Paula!  Will check out MB myself in future!  We do have a butcher in the same centre as the Countdown near us that has great prices.  Would like to compare his prices to MB.    And yes, going to the veggie shops are a lot cheaper than buying at the supermarkets.  Bought a kg of OZ tomatoes for $3.45 instead of the $8.99 /kg that Woolworths want for tomatoes! Talk about red gold! :heeha:

We did some grocery shopping on Sunday at Countdown, it was late so we bought some meat there too.  The bill was extremely high, we won't be buying meat at countdown again.... We usually only go the MB.  And I could hardly get any veg there either, this week it's of to the veggie shop.
