Hi,

On Monday the humidity on the North Shore was 100% - and that's official

Yesterday was the warmest day ever in Auckland with 32 deg measured:

Auckland sweltered yesterday in the hottest temperature in more than 130 years - straight after a record-warmest night - but in the south temperatures struggled into the mid-teens.

MetService records show the mercury hit 32.4C at Whenuapai Air Base about 3.30pm, equalling the previous hottest day, recorded at the Auckland Domain in February 1872.

WeatherWatch.co.nz's thermometer went one better, recording an unofficial 34C in West Auckland - a temperature that was fuelled by a hot nor'wester.

I need to add that since that warmest day it rained for 10 days. Now that the sun is shining again, I haven't a care in the world!

Thank goodness Hamilton has finally started to cool down the last week or so. We even had some rain which was sooooo lekker. I never thought I'd be happy to see rain!! But then I suppose in the winter I will long for the sunshine again.

We've had a fantastic summer down here in the Bay - no complaints here about the weather. We desperatly need rain cause our hills are really dry and it has eventually arrived but unfortunately at a really bad time for Lionel Richie and his fans!

After a long and very dry summer, I ended up with no grass for my horse's and had to by hay (in January

). Now we've finally had rain for a couple of days, on and off, and everything is nice and green again

I thought this was such a warm summer, and I actually struggled a little bit. I think it just shows how quickly you get used to cooler weather (or in our case anyway)

Gosh how was that storm on the NI on Saturday. Yet I still didn't feel cold, and the next day hot as hell again!! We went for a braai with family in Auckland and spent some time at Browns Bay. The water was a bit mucky from the storm the previous day but nice and warm - turned out to be a perfect day!

We are in One Tree Point, just south of Whangerei, we ended up with half the neighbours garage roof in our back yard after the storm this weekend... funny thing is, I did not oven wake up!!!
