Yes, I'm sure you have truly thought it out and chosen the best route for you.

We came out cowboy last November and likewise for us, it is the only way we could do it.  But I did have a very promising job prospect lined up - so that helped us.  Nevertheless, it is an extremely stressful way to do things.  We had been looking at the whole world economy situation before we left and knew that it was make or break for us before the end of the year - so with the job prospect in sight, we went ahead with our plans.  But if we could not have done it then, we may have decided to wait things out for a while and then gone later.

Bevmac, you are doing the right thing.  We came over with PR, DH isn't one to take huge risks, ok so it was 2 years ago, but still, he doesn't do risks very well.
The stress will still be there but it will all be worth it in the end!

Stay positive!

We came Cowboy but that was before the credit crunch and job shortages and even then, Husband came first and got the job and WP and I only sold the house and followed once he had it so we sort of waited for the "bird in the hand" first.  You must do what is right for you and remember that this is a HUGE move and expensive too.  It traumatic enough leaving SA without still getting here and stressing about WP's and finding work!  Rather be safe (well can you call it that in SA?  :2funny: than sorry .  Good luck to all those still applying for PR - you wont be sorry once you get here.
Life is too short for regrets.
