thanks for the feedback Wil Net Se, I am also glad that you are now where you feel "at home" and happy. Isn't that what it is all about after all?
Please don't be a stranger now, we are still interested to hear how things are going that side

I am not nocking wil net se, but this reminds me of an old classic ....
I've looked at life
from both sides now
from up and down
and still some how
it's lifes illusions I recall
I really don't know life at all
A friend of mine went to England with her family and could not settle missing all the things tabulated in wil net se 's post and her husband (not normally a sage and intelligent boy) sent her home for a long holiday (2 months) and she quickly realised the things she was missing was ethereal at best and went back happy and settled in fantastically.
good thing is if things change wil net se can always come back to NZ

my close friends are leaving next week. I am so sad - selfish I know - but I am. I know they have good reasons because NZ has not been kind to them but I am losing a close and special friend (we've been friends for years from SA already). I am trying to be supportive but I really feel disappointed that they have not experienced the NZ we've experienced.
I suppose it is tough which ever decision you make because you leave people on either side!!!!

OH El! I am so sorry to hear the news about your friends.
It is tough which ever decision you make. Remember I am still here if you need a shoulder!
