Oh wow, then us city-slickers swopped the racy lifestyle to become hill-billies living in the wop-wops,/boondocks (country-life)   ;D :2funny:

And enjoying it!!

Seriously though, I guess I have been lucky then where I work.  My directors and colleagues have been great towards me as an immigrant, and I am the first foreigner they have employed.  I think they did have their reservations in the beginning perhaps,  But they have never been nasty towards me for being a SAffer, have never run my heritage or culture down, and have often expressed admiration for me having the guts to move to another country to make a new life.

In case you were wondering -- Some insight and explanation into the word:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bogan

I quite like this part...
Quote
This term plays on the plant name "bougainvillea", considered a weed in northern parts of Australia because of its prolific growth habit.
  :2funny:

I guess this would be similar to the South African word - Zeff!
"Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

Ditto Jannee

Luke has a great boss and co-workers.

His boss actually helped him move our funiture into our house and he insisted that he takes
two weeks off when we land. The guys at worked phoned every now and then during his
holiday time, just to say that they are missing him at the office, etc.

Good people that have gone out of their way to make it easier for him and us.

They treat him as a person........... not Saffer of Kiwi.

We have also been lucky in this regard then, as we have not yet met any rude kiwis O0

kiwi or saffer,  the trait of being rude is a human one.  To say you will never meet a rude kiwi might mean that either you are building them up to super human,  or a person who does not have the right to be rude.. which is a human right.  If anyone wanted to be a a hole,  its their right.  What you do with a person who behaves like that is another discussion i think.

Our experience, in the main, the Kiwis have been supportive and pleasant (more the 'you got guts for what you've done' aspect than any other). Of course there are loads of rude fools and "SA Taxi Driver trained" people on the roads. However, overall, even my work colleagues are great. Wife's company are worried she'll leave when we get PR, cause they think the sun shines only when she's at work  O0 (Ha, you all thought I was going to be crude - sorry to disappoint) :2funny: :2funny:
