Has anybody picked up any problems moving funds to NZ? SARS has just refused clearance to move funds on the grounds that the people are already staying in NZ & do not require the funds???

Debbie gave me a bit more info on this case. This is quite a unusual and worrying case as I have not heard of this happening before.

At worst, these folks can each year take out their travelling allowance untill all their money is out.

I would think that they would need to somehow prove that that they are just living in NZ on a temporary basis? Do they still have a house in SA?

Another option is that they then officially emigrate, pay the 10% and get their money out that way.

Bottom line is the government is holding those with money in this country by the b#lls because they know they will take it all out if given half a chance. Daylight robbery and fraud to boot, but we are powerless to do anything about it.

I suggest folks in situations like these chat to Herman at MFS, HERE about it. Always best to get a specialists advice when dealing with important stuff like your life savings.
