Hi All

Thanks for all the wonderful words of encouragement.

Basically every spare cent we have will now go towards the documents we need and the EOI etc.

Anyone interested in comparing  notes?

Ciao

K

Hi Again

The more research I do on NZ, the more I believe it is the right choice for me.

We will probably submit our EOI in November, this will give me time to do the Pre assessment of my qualifications and also whatever unabridged docs that I may still need.

We have most of our unabridged birth certs except my elder daughter's as home affairs messed up a bit.

Ciao for Now

Karen

Hi - we worked on our EOI the entire weekend (2 hours my foot) and have still not submitted, just keep on going over it until we are 100% sure that it is right.  We were living in Durban, now in Hilton (Pietermaritzburg) until we leave for NZ, hopefully within a year!  I have done the immigration thing before (Canada) and NZ does not seem as daunting as the Canadian immigration nightmare.  I am also originally from Zim, watched the country slide backwards and now the same thing (in fact worse) is happening in SA.  Our once beautiful country is now finished!  All our friends who are already over in NZ are EXCEPTIONALLY happy, no matter how much/little money they have, they are just enjoying the freedom that comes with living there.

Cheers,
Chantel

Nice to meet you Chantal.

Lots of Rhodies on this forum. AKA experienced migranta, done it beofre and will do it again.

As for Home Affairs :tickedoff:
Took over a year to get my daughters birth certifuicate and even though I asked for unabridged, didn't get it -so am doing it this month.

DH has never had a passport and mine has expired, so will have to get those too before EOI.

In November I will have paid all the school fees for the year so will have the money for the EOI. (Before I have to pay the huge levy school fee in January) ha ha it never ends.

In the meantime, I will go through all the stuff (megs and megs) that I've downloaded in my research.
I have already registeered an account with NZIS in order to do the EOI, so can start - just submit when I have money and forms.

Just make absolutely sure you cross all the T's and dot all the I's - very very important.  Rather spend extra much time on it than rush through it.  You don't want to go through this: :pullhair:

Lots of :gl: to you all.
