OH and I aren't married, but were just saying the other day that if we make it in NZ and get PR, maybe we should celebrate by finally tying the knot  :D  Now, we would not expect anyone from SA to fly to NZ for this, so I don't think they would expect us to fly to SA for this kind of occasion.  Funerals - very difficult one and OH and I are divided on this.  He says he won't fly back unless he's got mega cash to spare :2funny:  and I would like to if it was my mom's, but would go on my own.  My folks are very practical about these things and have told us it's too expensive and we musn't waste our money.  I think it also depends on how much family you have back in SA - OH has 3 siblings to support each other, but I only have my younger brother who would have to deal with everything if I'm not there.  I actually want to discuss this with him before we leave. Very tough one this  :-\  And a very personal decision.

Well, we just got the invite, for October next year.  Jeez.  Such bad timing.  We were planning on DH  going over in a bout Feb / March to get all our belongings packed up properly, tying up all loose ends, etc.  He says he has to go to the wedding, but we don't.  But if he only goes in October, this means that I have to wait until then to get my container of stuff.

I guess I should not be worrying now anyway, we don't even have PR  :2funny:  Let me take things month by month as life changes every day.

Exactly what I asked them .  "Why October "  They reckon it is summer, but having lived in Hout Bay for 6 years, it is the worst weather !!!  They should wait .   Inconsiderate so and so's .  Man, all these difficulties !!!

But, today it is a glorious spring day, we have the windows and doors all open.  Have spring cleaned the house, and are now going to relax, start a braai, and just balles bak.   The rest can be dealt with later.

I am a lady, but I love some afrikaans expressions, and this is one of my favourites.  In fact, when we bought our yacht and named her, I wanted to name the dinghy Balles Bak, but DH said it wasn't such a good idea  :2funny:

To me it is so expressive, of really, really relaxing !!!!  I guess it can be gross if you really want to put a picture with it  :2funny:  but I don't see it that way.  Don't know if I am expressing myself well.
