OH and I aren't married, but were just saying the other day that if we make it in NZ and get PR, maybe we should celebrate by finally tying the knot
Now, we would not expect anyone from SA to fly to NZ for this, so I don't think they would expect us to fly to SA for this kind of occasion. Funerals - very difficult one and OH and I are divided on this. He says he won't fly back unless he's got mega cash to spare
and I would like to if it was my mom's, but would go on my own. My folks are very practical about these things and have told us it's too expensive and we musn't waste our money. I think it also depends on how much family you have back in SA - OH has 3 siblings to support each other, but I only have my younger brother who would have to deal with everything if I'm not there. I actually want to discuss this with him before we leave. Very tough one this
And a very personal decision.
