we have just had our EOI approved and i have now logged over 5 hours of lurking on here so thought i should officially introduce myself!
my husband and i are already expats (we live in the middle east) and both sets of folks were expats before us, but i am south african and my folks have retired to south africa. and this site has been really really interesting.
as i have been reading it, i realise that even though my husband and i have moved countless times, its always been to another contract, never to a forever home. and this move to new zealand (pray it comes off!) is exactly that. and so i find myself worrying about all sorts of stuff i have never really worried about before a move. finding this site has been a welcome relief! so much honest information, from perspectives that i understand and can empathise with.
plus, most of our moves have been facilitated at least in part by the company employing us, and we havent got a job offer (yet
) so am trying to get as informed as possible.
