Would it be easier to get a drivers license in NZ or first here in SA before we leave?

doesnt she have one at all?

if not then she has to do a written and practical test either in SA or NZ. Probably be quicker in NZ with no long waiting lists.

if she has one it is easy to convert to NZ one.

She has nothing. We have also spoken about it and thought maybe should do it in NZ. She has at least 12 yrs driving experience. At least she can do it that side using an auto car! No more gears for her

So she's been driving around without a license?  :o  Only in SA!  ;D

Yes, I think it's going to be far better to do it in NZ, because then she can just learn the NZ road rules and signs.  :)

And the way things are going now with the admin of drivers licenses,  she'll probably only get it after she retired ... specially with new unimproved system of licensing in SA
