Alternative for Cola Tonic and coffee
« on: September 20, 2010, 04:38:12 am »
Jip I am still on the grocery part of our immigration process  :D

I looooooooove Rose's Cola Tonic with Sprite Zero  :smitten: I found the Cola Tonic at the SA Shop in Albany and Sprite Zero is found everywhere however, the Cola Tonic is quite expensive seeing that I could only find it at the SA shop and I can't seem to find an alternative, does anybody know of an alternative and if so which shop sells it?

Then coffee, except for Ricoffy found at the SA shop and nescafe at other shops, what other instant brands can you suggest because the few that we have tried are horrible.

Thanks

Ursula

Thanks Vissers, I don't like frisco as well  ;D cola tonic is non alcoholic and it is usually found with the other cooldrink mixes.

My parents are doing the "frisco" thing... I don't like...... Goodluck with the tonic, will keep my eyes open though and if I find anything will be letting you know.  ;D

Your parents have good taste! I used to be a little  to the fact we drank frisco back in SA - my daughter had a little friend over once, and this little girl saw me making myself a cup....she says to my DD, 'My mom only buys that coffee for our maid'...well I never.... :tickedoff: my DD made me hide it after that ordeal.... ;D

Roses cordial's can be found in most shops - our Countdown in Papakura stocks it in the drinks aisle.

I never got used to the coffee in NZ and still buy Koffiehuis Medium Roast every month.  I don't care how much I have to pay for it - there is no way I'm strarting my day without a good cup of coffee  ;D.

in SA I ONLY used to drink Koffiehuis Medium Roast and the same when we got here, then at one stage we couldn't get so the closest I could find was the Foodtown homebrand coffee. Since then Koffiehuis Medium Roast tastes positively boring, go figure....

This seems like a good place to post my request  :)  One of the grocery buyers at New World Glenview wants to get in a range of South African products but does not have a clue what to stock so he has given me the list of available products  that can be ordered.  He wants me to make suggestions. I will list what is available and put a star next to what I thought but please feel free to say what you guys would like to see. Unfortunately this is a small NW so they won't order in a great range but its a start.
