Hi there, i'm new
« on: March 21, 2011, 11:37:51 PM »
Hey all - just thought i'd introduce myself:
I'm a high school teacher here in SA - married with 3 small boys.
Have a sister in NZ - she moved there 3 years ago and is LOVING it.  My husband and i have been toying with the idea of leaving SA for just over 2 years, but have finally decided it's the way to go!
We're still young - 30 & 32, and hope to get over based on my skilled migrant application.
We've just applied for passports and unabridged bc's - so waiting to complete the EOI asap.
Bit stressed about it all - especially the finances to apply, selling up my hubby's small business, selling the house, etc.  Just really hoping we'll be able to do it all relatively smoothly.  But... whatever... here we go!!! :)

Hello Lals,

 :welcome:

If I were you, I'd get that EOI filled in and submitted.  We only had to hand in all our documents a couple months after being drawn later....and start getting all your other certificates together so you don't end up waiting on anything!

Good luck!

Susan, don't we need passport numbers to fill in the EOI?

Goodday Lals,

Welcome to the forum. I'm also a teacher (currently in fin industry, being the breadwinner and all) busy with all the nitty gritty of immigrating to NZ. I can tell you that with all the info on this forum it is just so much easier than not knowing anything and touching in the dark. Goodluck with all the paperwork and keep posted on outcomes.

I'm sending all my documentation on Friday to NZQA for assessment and then off to teacher registration! Yes it is costly to get all of this done, but I'm sure it is for the best!

Good luck.

Welcome to the crazy bunch here, Lals!  But we're all crazy enough to love helping others!  :2funny:

If I remember correctly, Nolan also didn't have passports yet, I'm trying to remember back to then, as to what he did on the EOI... NOLAN... are you there??

Anyway, it's bit of a rollercoaster ride, this immigration thing... emotional, stressful, but for the most part WORTH it!!!
lekker sweet as, y'all
