Full agreement with Rockhopper. Thank you very much for your post Ostrich, and also yours Nolan. I will be sure to follow your advice and slowly join in the discussions elswhere. Is the beauty one of the reasons that people seem to become so homesick for SA after leaving or is it more than that? Well, besides family that is. I already ask lots of questions  :D and now I will have to make sure to keep my ears and my mind open too. Baie baie baie dankie vir julle hulp.  :P

I will miss the weather, the wildlife, the quality of life (different from standard of living, please don't get me wrong).  I will not miss the collapse of the economy, poverty, crime, pollution, racial hatred, not being promoted because I am a white woman (only in our FMCG company, not sure if all companies are like this), fear of walking down the street and driving to work, sleeping with one ear in case someone tries to break into our house, etc, etc, etc.
