New Zealand works its Christmas's completely different to RSA.

In RSA there is a public holiday on 16 Dec.This is the time most business' close for Xmas and return to work early in the new year.

IN NZ there is a public holiday in Auckland and Wellington in January, so business' close shortly before Xmas, but the break is after Xmas and there is effectively no business activity until late Jan.

while this may suit you in coming over in Jan,with setting up and so forth,it also means there is less recruitment going on at that time of the year.

very interesting ... I did not know this. :o

I am definitely making a note of this for my own planning. I also wanted to arrange a Christmas fly over. might not be such a great idea... ???

Christchurch will be good to come to any time of the year, nothing is closing down, except maybe between Christmas and New Year.

The job market seems to come to life in Feb. Things come to a stand still over Xmas through to when schools start in Feb...      :gl: :gl: :gl: :gl:
