Original Qualification Documents
« on: January 31, 2012, 11:18:35 am »
 :help:

We have a situation wherein DW is a qualified chef with 11 years experience working in 5 star establishments in SA and Europe and we get enough points using the online assessment tool - however, the difficulty that we have is that the original qualification certificate has been "lost" and the institution doesn't exist any more for us to request a new replacement copy.

So, is there any way that this situation can be resolved considering the Immigration service's requirement to having all original documents with our application.

All assistance/ideas are greatly appreciated.

I know your fustration lol your best option would be to contact NZQA directly and ask them the question? They were able to help a mate by recognising his work experience and then proving him a letter of confirmation that was used in his application...

Cool - many thanks, I'll give it a go and let you know how it turns out as I'm sure other folks many have the same (or similar) situation.

Take care,

Maybe you're DW would or could also have or get letters of recommendation from her previous employers to state that she can do the job. If you know what I mean...  ::)

Just a thought, but the school which originally gave her the qualification was probably licensed or accredited by some professional board, right? It might be possible to contact that board and see if they can help, or at least provide a letter to the effect that the school existed and has since closed, which is why this qualification cannot be reproduced?

Maybe just maybe to contact previous employers that may have a copy still sitting on her personal file if they still have records. Just a thought! Good luck!!!!
