Power of Attorney- how to?
« on: November 01, 2011, 10:28:04 am »
Hey Guys

 :help:

Does anybody know the correct route to follow when assigning somebody with the power of attorney over your bank accounts etc?
Is this something I do within the bank or do you need to go to lawyers etc to have it drawn up.
Any help on the topic would be appreciated- As you may of guessed- I'm a bit clueless when it comes to this subject.

Many thanks

I would suggest that you get that done at a lawyer (we did ours at a lawyer). I am glad we did because my mother in law faced quite a lot of challenges on our behalf over the past year and luckily we gave her full POA she can even buy a house on our behalf! Make 100% sure that the person has the right to open and close bank accounts on your behalf (with your signature).

Good luck.
