Hi all,

We arrived late last night, after 23 hours of travelling via Singapore! Our boys - 4 1/2 and 2 years old - were fantastically well behaved on the plane! Much better than what I expected!

Anyway, I will post more of our initial experiences and observations of this beautiful country in the next few days.

We are staying in the Albany Oak Motel for 2 weeks, to give us time to find a rental - not much out there at the moment - please let me know if you know of a 3+ bedroom house with a bit of an outside area for +-N$500 around the Unsworth Heights area, or elsewhere on Northshore!

Mmmmmmm.....

So based on my research of Auckland weather I expected rain, rain and more rain, but instead we spent the day on the beach! I feel like we emigrated to Umhlanga Rocks!

Sure it won't last, but really loving the awesome weather!

Went to the beach in Brown's Bay, apparently not the most beautiful on North Shore - but not too shabby by my standards either!

Started the house-hunting process, all the agents we spoke to indicated that the market is very very fast at the moment, with most properties getting about 50 or more applications within 24 hours! I assume that a lot of people coming up from Christchurch looking for rentals created the huge demand, but could be wrong.

Not sure how we are going to find a place, but sure it'll work out fine!

We are looking to leave SA, and NZ is our first choice. Only starting to look at the options now, but it looks all super so far.
