When we did our immigration back in 2006 we had the problem with the children's Unabridged Birth Certificates.  The HA Head Office in Pta had a back log of filing to do and our applications weren't going to be done for some time, this was explained to me over the phone by a lady in the Pta Head Office.  This was at a time when all the Provincial HO's had merged and everything was being done by PTA HO.
We saw a company in Edenvale and re-applied, paid a premium, and had the certificates within a week.  We didn't have time to mess around, our ITA submission date was fast approaching.  We paid +- R700/ Unabridged Birth Certificate, thankfully we only needed 2.

@therobs I already have a case number and I keep getting told "phone back in 2 weeks" "we have escalated your case" aaarrrggghhhh so agrevating... !!!  :fight: :fight: :fight: :fight: :fight: :fight:

But lets just be patient and see what happens... at least our police clearance certificated took only 3 weeks

therobsfamily, are you looking for the Unabridged Marriage Certificate or the abridged one for you application?  We had to get our Unabridged Marriage Certificate which you get from HA

flip, i was just in the clouds and now im not any more after reading your post robs! LOL

I phoned our HA too and they said phone the call centre. spoke to a lady there and she said no she will immediately mark it as urgent and I must phone again in 2 weeks. So i was thrilled as it sounded as if it might get priority but now i see......almost everyone goes through the same thing LOL sooooo frustrating.

And they tell me oh your marriage cert is lying there since last week, okay so how should we know if they dont send an sms. flip.

Good luck to everyone.

Ristic, you sound very calm, i would have exploded by now
