Thanks Goldie, Sherelee and Yusuf!  O0

Forgot to mention, Company A said that if they were to offer me a position, I would only need to start in the new year! Like YEAH! With all that on my mind I dreamt I recieved the job offer via post nogal! It was a thick document and all I wanted to see was my name and the salary. Just when I get to that page, I woke up! LOL! Eish!

Anyway, Company B called last night. 10pm on the dot!! Kiwis are on the ball with their timing hey! Call lasted exactly 15 minutes! It went very well. Easy going, comfortable and overall very positive. I'll get some feedback middle of next week. She said that if they were to continue with the application, phase 2 would be a Skype interview. They also happy waiting a few months and happy with my salary expectations.

So now we wait again.. :) I can do this all day! :)

That's it for now.

Hi  A bridge too far,
You will obviously need money to get to New Zealand and have money to pay rent and eat for one or two months otherwise you will never get to good old NZ. Yes, your experience is called the "catch 22 syndrome" No work Visa, no Job offer, no job offer, no work visa. The way the employment market is at present you need to be in New Zealand to go for interviews and you need to speak and deal with a good immigration adviser. Fees are high but you are getting a new, safe, life in a wonderful country where everything works and kids can ride their bikes in the park at 9pm at night withpout being molested or worse. Speak to NSIS and they may be able to give you  a good repayment terms deal where you pay off their fee from the job you get in NZ.
Regards,
Peter W

Hey Zatexnz! Thanks for the warm  :welcome:

I did take the points test but with a job offer I only come up with 105 points. I posted something in another section in this forum where  I've completed a 6 month part-time Software Testing 'Diploma' with Faculty Training Institute here in Cape Town in 2009 and just completed another Business Analysis 'Diploma' this month with the same Institution. These are not 3 year Diplomas so I'm not too sure what it would go as. Will these along with my Matric Certificate even be considered if I have to make an EOI for PR? Not even sure that NZQA will even look at these to assess! My worry is my PR been declined because of no recognised qualification. Hence our decision to opt for the Work Visa instead.
Some help would really be appreciated.  :help:

Thanks guys, I think I'll do that!  O0
PS> I've recieved feedback from Company B this morning via email. They seem happy with the telephonic interview I had last week Monday night. They would now like to proceed with a Skype interview. That has been scheduled for this Thursday night at 10:00PM SAST! Looking forward to that!

Will keep you posted!

Cheers,

Thanks Sherelee! :)

Another quick one - Company A got back to me this morning to say that they are looking at their resourcing for the coming year and can't yet confirm if they could take me on. They would like to have me meet a few of their other employees though, so they will arrange another Skype catch up.

So for now, it's neither here nor there! Will have to wait to see what happens.

NSIS got back to me as well regarding my diploma certificates and said they I must just give them a couple of days.

I think its a good thing hey. I have read that most NZders wants you there so that you can meet the other employees and see if one will fit in.
the other interview DH had the guy told him he wants him to 'walk a day in their shoes' as it involves working on milking farms etc.

They want to know that you will fit in with the surroundings and other people you will see every single day. So it might be a great positive!

Yeah Goldie, I think so too. Although it'll be a virtual introduction, but an intro nonetheless. :) I'm hoping that them suggesting that means they are quite keen!

I feel though like I need to convince them more of our decision to make this move to NZ though. Maybe tell them of the things we've done so far, like request police clearance, completing passport application forms for the wife and kids, started with EOI ect ect...
