Unless you plan to live on the North Shore you wont easily have an opportunity to meet other South Africans as all the events take place on the North Shore with little effort made to have events elsewhere

Hi there.  Sorry NOT TRUE.  We have a lovely lively South African community in East and South Auckland too.  Various support groups for Ladies and "Tuisnywerheid" days.  Please see facebook groups SaffaZealanders & Safri-Kiwi, South Africa Women Support Group, East Auckland - Info sharing groups.

We also have a largish group in Nelson.  We only get together about 4 times a year (having too much fun to do it more  ;) ) and it is usually for a braai at Rabbit Island where the kids swim, we braai and chat , but it is fun.  What I loved is that no-one really spoke about South Africa, it was all about their new lives and what they were getting up to.  No winjers.
