Unabridged birth certificates in SA
« on: January 12, 2014, 05:00:30 pm »
Hi All,

For all fellow South Africans in JHB still needing to get their unabridged birth certificates, I can highly recommend the Alberton Home Affairs office. We originally applied for ours through the Randburg office - suspect they sent our applications to the "Bermuda Triangle". After 8 months of waiting  for nothing a fellow family member told us that he got his relatively quickly through the Alberton office. We re-applied through the Alberton office and had all 4 of our unabridged birth certificates (mine, my wife's and our two daughters') within 3 months. Worth a shot.

Not sure what the issue was with the Randburg office because they were pretty good in getting our passports done quickly.

Hi Kiwi_in_the_making - great to hear. Luckily that is something we also already have.
But I have a question though...do they expire???
Ours is a couple of year old already

We made use of Bunnyhop to get our unabridged birth certificates. They managed to obtain it for us in a week and a half! We also used them for our unabridged marriage certificate and police clearances. Can highly recommend them!  O0

Check out www.bunnyhop.co.za

They are a document services company. They organise home affairs stuff on your behalf.
I have used them and found them to be very efficient. However, they can be quite expensive.
