medical check up
« on: January 19, 2014, 05:41:45 am »
I have been reading through many of the statements on this site and have not read any info regarding a medical check up. Ex pats in Auckland told me I require a full medical check up, x-rays of my lungs and a blood test. I would like to know if this is really required before I leave?? Regards. Derek

hi Derek1976

hubby and i are looking to emigrate this year, and i can tell you that you will most definitely need to go for the medical.  you also cannot just go to any doctor, INZ has a listed of 'certified'doctors who can do the medical

Yes you do.  If you think that you may have any health issues such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, a waist measurement that is too large, etc, then make sure that these are all fixed before hand.  This will make it cheaper for you in the long run as doing the medical are expensive, and it saves you stress and time.

The blood tests check for many things, including liver, kidneys, etc.
