When our cars here are over 5 years old they don't seem to have any value anymore and you battle to sell the car.  But it seems that they drive cars in NZ until the wheels come of.  There are a lot of cars 10 yrs and older for sale and this is something we find strange.  Also found that we can buy the same cars we have there for the selling price here.  Same years, same kms for the same price.  Goooodd news.   O0

How does a car 1998 only have 19000kms on??  Or a 1996 only have 46000km, or 1998 with 28000kms?  Smells fishy but on Auto trader most of the cars have low kms, is it the norm to turn back the speedo, or to unplug it?

Most of the cars here I have found have minimum km's on them.

The other thing is, if you are buying second hand from a dealer you normally have the option of adding a warantee, so who cars anyway what the km's are, as long as you know if something happens to the car, it will get fixed free of charge.

I posted some pictures of our visit to Ellerslie car fair today. We did not find a car for Hayden but hoping for better luck soon.
Also a lot of "boring" highway pictures etc.

Hi guys, totally missed all your responses to my post about us buying cars!
HEre is the Astra we bought which is now mine. $11,000 and just over 110.000 km

and this is Jan's Golf, just after it had arrived at the dealer.  $9,000 and can't remember km.

Both have WOF for a whole year.

Cool cars Colleen. Holden is so close to where I work I can even see the reflection of a Mercedes badge just to the right of the Astras roof.  ;D

MJ Hayden will post a few pictures on facebook for you.

Maybe we will post some  on here a bit later. Still a bit shy like most people on the site?  ;)
