Invitation to Apply

Here is a general list of the items required when submitting your Invitation to Apply (ITA) for your New Zealand immigration application.
Please remember that the items you will need to submit may differ depending on your own unique situation, but it gives you a good head start on the paper trail.

Invitation to Apply for Residence – Skilled Migrant

Section A : Principle Applicants Identity

Your Unabridged Birth Certificate
Passport
Certificate Fees
Passport Fees
Your Full Marriage Certificate
Marriage Certificate Fees

Section B : Principal Applicants Character

Get Finger Prints at Police Station
Police Certificates for all countries you lived in for 12 months or more over the past 10 years
Certificate Fees

Section C : Principal Applicants Health

Book Medicals (List of Doctors HERE)
Print Medical & X-Ray Form (HERE)
Complete required NZIS Medical & X-Ray Certificate Sections in Advance
Medical & X-Ray Fees. No X-Rays required for pregnant women

Section D : Principal Applicants English Language Ability

Book IELTS Test if you studied in Afrikaans or get a letter from University to say you studied in English.

Section E : Skilled Employment in NZ

Evidence of Skilled Employment. Must state from when to when and hours worked per month / week
Certificate of Occupational Registration (if Applicable)
Proof of Employment / Offer of Employment outside Auckland / in Identified Future Growth Area / Area of Absolute Skills Shortage (if Applicable)

Section F : Principal Applicants Recognized Qualifications

Proof of Qualification
NZQA Full Report include Curriculum
Your Certificate of Registration if You are required to Register in NZ.
List of Registration Authorities
Evidence of Qualifications in an Identified Future Growth Area / Area of Absolute Skills Shortage (if Applicable)

Section G : Principal Applicants Recognised Work Experience

Evidence of Work Experience (References from Employers which include start & end dates & position held & hours worked per month or Letter from Accountant confirming length of self employment & Financial Statements for that period if you are self employed)
Evidence of Work Experience in an Identified Future Growth Area / Area of Absolute Skills Shortage (if Applicable)

Section H : Partner’s Identity

Unabridged Marriage Certificate
Evidence You have been Living together for at least 12 months (House, Water & Lights Accounts, etc.)
Partner’s Unabridged Birth Certificate
Partner’s Passport
Fees for Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate & Passport

Section I : Partner’s Character

Get Finger Prints at Police Station
Police Certificates for all countries your partner lived in for 12 months or more over the past 10 years

Section J : Partners Health

Book Medicals (List of Doctors HERE)
Print Medical & X-Ray Form (HERE)
Complete NZIS Medical & X-Ray Certificate Sections in Advance
Medical & X-Ray Fees. No X-Rays required for pregnant women

Section K : Partner’s English Language Ability

Book IELTS Test (International English Language Testing System) or add Matric certificate if you were in an English School or get letter from University to say studies were in English.

Section L : Partner’s Skilled Employment

Permission to take children if they are from a previous relationship

Section Q : Children’s Character

Get Finger Prints at Police Station for children 17 and older
Police Certificates for all countries your children lived in for 12 months or more over the past 10 years (17 years old and older)
Certificate Fees

Section R : Children’s Health

Book Medicals (List of Doctors HERE)
Print Medical & X-Ray Form (HERE)
Complete NZIS Medical & X-Ray Certificate Sections in Advance
Medical & X-Ray Fees. X-Rays only for children over 11

Section S : Children’s English Language Ability

Book IELTS Test for Children over 16
(International English Language Testing System)

Add Photo copies of all original documents you are sending with.
Complete the Payment Details section
Filled in Migrant Levy Form
Double checked everything to the included Checklist and ticked the checklist giving reasons for any missing info.
Double checked according to the Tips Leaflet
Has immigration agent signed the document
Have you, your partner and children over 17 signed the document as applicable.
Have you included the passport sized photographs for yourself, your partner and dependent children
Have you written the name of the person as well as the date the photo was taken behind each photograph.
Placed everything in the envelope in correct order (no folder or plastic sleeves)
Use page numbers to check the order.
Recheck that your Passports are in the folder along with completed Migrant Levy Form
Courier Fees to send documents to London
Add a ‘receiver pays’ waybill into your ITA package so that original documents can be returned to you.
